Actor and model Yang Se Jong will be officially joining the military on May 12. His agency Good People confirmed the information on April 30.
According to Korean media, Yang Se Jong recently received a military enlistment warrant. The actor has been waiting for his national defense duty without doing any activity this year.
After appearing in a short film in 2013, Yang Se Jong made his face known to the audience in 2016 with dramas ‘Saimdang, Memoir of Colors’ and ‘Dr. Romantic‘. He quickly grew into a leading role in ‘Duel’, then continued to thrive with his solid character in ‘Temperature of Love’ and ‘Still 17′. He won the honorable 54th Baeksang Arts Awards’ Best New Actor in the TV category. He also successfully led the tens-of-billions-of-won masterpiece ‘My Country: The New Age’ last autumn, establishing himself as a trusted actor in his 20s.
No news of his next film has been heard since his special appearance in ‘Dr. Romantic 2’, as he spent time focusing on his daily life without any activity. And now, he will leave his fans for a while for his mandatory military service next month, after his decision to join the army.
Previously, Yang Se Jong also had an issue with his agency. He was set to expire his contract with Good People, which has been his agency for five years.
