Boy group BTOB's agency Cube Entertainment has officially confirmed that, "BTOB Jung Ilhoon will join the army on May 28."
"Jung Ilhoon will undergo four weeks of basic military training and work as a social service worker," the company added. "Jung Ilhoon himself wanted to join the army quietly, so he decided not to disclose the location and time of his enlistment."
Earlier, BTOB members Yook Sungjae and Im Hyunsik also entered the military on May 11. The group leader, Seo Eunkwang was discharged from the military last April, while members Lee Changsub and Lee Minhyuk will be discharged in August and September, respectively.
As a result, all members of BTOB will fulfill their national defense obligations, except for Peniel, a foreign member.
Ilhoon also wrote on his SNS on May 27 to personally announces the news:
"Hello, MELODY (BTOB'S fandom name) and our fans who are cheering for us. It's been a long time since I've said hello in writing. Actually, I'm writing to tell you about my enlistment. I'm sorry that I haven't communicated with you properly while resting. I'm sure you felt a lot of frustration because you didn't get to communicate with the one you trusted and loved, and you only heard news from other people from time to time. I'm sorry again.
But during that time, I was taking care of myself, focusing on myself. It's been a long time since I left such a long post, but I'm sorry that it is such a sudden news.
But I'm sure you all know that as a man of the Republic of Korea, I have to fulfill my duties. I'll come back with a healthier and happier look. I hope you'll all be happy in the meantime. Thank you for reading the long article! I love you again. Melody!"
