Cube Entertainment officially announced on December 31 that Jung Ilhoon will leave the team. "Jung Ilhoon is deeply reflecting on his responsibility for breaking the trust of many fans and causing the disappointment. The company also took it seriously and after careful discussion, he decided to withdraw from the team starting today as he could no longer harm the group," they said.
BTOB will continue their activities as a 6-member group. BTOB decided to pursue active activities with the support of the company.
According to the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency on December 21, Jung Ilhoon was sent to the prosecution on charges of violating the law on drug management. Based on the statements of his accomplices and tracking accounts, the police found that Jung Ilhoon smoked marijuana several times with his acquaintances since four to five years ago. It was revealed that he used virtual currency during the purchasing process.
Ilhoon has been serving as a social service worker since May. At the time of the report, the agency said, "We checked with him, and it's true he was summoned by the investigative agency for questioning on charges of smoking marijuana as reported.
