Recently, Cardi B has shared her latest thought about other female rappers, but fans claimed that she mentioned Nicki Minaj.
After quite a long time of silent, Cardi B made a comeback in the song "WAP" and collab with Megan Thee Stallion.
The music is filled with hot visuals and catchy melodies, which made the song become a hit song with high praise from her fans. Up to now, WAP has reached more than 60 million views on Youtube just a few days after release.
Recently, Cardi B had an interview with Apple Music about his single "WAP" out on August 7. She had a chance to share her thoughts on other female rappers who have played a big role in the entire music industry since she was a young girl.
Cardi B has praised Nicki Minaj for “dominating” the music industry, in what’s claimed to be an indirect shout out towards the rapper.
Cardi didn’t directly mention Nicki's name, but seemingly referenced her when speaking to Apple Music about how female rappers controlled the music scene when she was growing up.
"When I was younger, when I was eight… No wait, I’m lying. When I was six, seven, eight, there was a lot different female rappers,"
"And then there was a time that there was no female rappers at all. I have to keep replaying songs from the early 2000s. I have to keep replaying it, replaying it, replaying it because for a while there wasn’t no female rapper."
She then added: "Then there was one female rapper that dominated for a very long time. And she did pretty good. She’s been still dominating," a comment that seemingly referred to Minaj.
Besides, Cardi B also shared about the stereotypes about battles between rappers towards each other are not true.
At the time she said that, Cardi's fans have high expectations for the duo to get along well with each other, after the fight in 2018.
