TREASURE has topped Japan's major music charts several times earlier with their Korean songs, but this is the first time that they dominated the Line Music Weekly Chart (March 10, 2021 - March 16, 2021).
As TREASURE will officially debut in Japan on March 31, a stronger wind is expected. This is because they have captivated Japanese fans even with just music and video content without direct local activities.
In particular, TREASURE was created to target the global market from the beginning. They hav developed a ripple effect as the fastest-growing newbie under the full support and thorough plan of YG Entertainment.
This time again, the Japanese version of their song 'BOY' topped Line Music for six consecutive days after its surprise release on March 10. Other Japanese pre-released songs 'I LOVE YOU', 'MMM' and 'MY TREASURE' also reached the top positions on the list, signaling their popularity.
All four album title tracks of TREASURE's 'THE FIRST STEP' series, which have sold more than 1 million copies in total, already topped major Japanese charts when they came out. The Japanese animation theme song 'BEAUTIFUL' sung by TREASURE also topped the list, contributing to the preheating process.
Japanese media are also paying keen attention. Recently, Japanese terrestrial broadcasters Fujiterevi 'Mr. Sunday' and Nihonterebi 'Sukiri' expressed their expectations for TREASURE's debut in Japan, praising TREASURE's past audition videos to trainee years, TREASURE's birth process, current activities as a global rookie, and interviews.
