BTS has written a new history as they topped the Billboard Hot 100 for the 2nd consecutive week after becoming the first Korean artist to reach No. 1 on the chart.

Billboard announced on its official Twitter account on September 9 that "the new song 'Dynamite' has topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart for the second consecutive week."

Earlier, the English single by BTS topped the Billboard Hot 100 on September 5, 2020, achieving the feat of becoming the first Korean singer to top the biggest music chart in the US. The previous record was held by Psy's 'Gangnam Style', peaking at No.2 for 7 consecutive weeks in 2012.

Released on August 21, 'Dynamite' conveys BTS's desire to revitalize everyone in this troubled time caused by the COVID-19. It is a bright and exciting disco pop song that features addictive melodies and members' sophisticated and cheerful choreography.

Shortly after its release, 'Dynamite' became the first song by a Korean artist to achieve the top the world's largest streaming platform Spotify's global top 50 chart. The song also set the highest streaming record on the first day of its release on Spotify in 2020 with 7,778,950 global streams. In addition, its music video surpassed 10.1 million views in 24 hours, breaking YouTube's record of 'The most viewed music video in the first 24 hours'.
