The British rose Kate Winslet was seen kissing Saoirse Ronan passionately in the trailer of "Ammonite", which will be out this November.

The work is compared to "Portrait of a lady on fire", the film with the same theme that won the Queer Palm award at the Cannes Film Festival in 2019.

Indiewire believes that Ammonite is a qualified candidate for this year's Oscar season. The work is expected to be shown in the framework of this year's Cannes and Telluride Film Festival but was canceled due to COVID-19 pandemic. In the near future, the passionate movie will premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in September.

The critic Cameron Bailey - praised Kate Winslet - who won the Academy Award with The Reader (2008) - for her outstanding performance in this project.

The story's background takes place in 1840, in the coastal region of Lyme Regis, southern England. Kate Winslet reincarnated as Mary Anning - a researcher in real life in history. In the film, she left her career in geology, back home - in the southern seas - to find fossils under the sea and take care of her sick mother.

Charlotte Murchison - a depressed wife (played by Saoirse Ronan) - is sent by her husband to live with Mary, becoming an assistant. The two people at first were not compatible with each other because of their social status and personality, but the bond gradually becomes stronger as they have each other to share their loneliness deep inside and quickly see each other as partners with burning feelings of love.
