Kelly Ripa and other stars are heartbroken over John Callahan's death
Over the years, John Callahan worked with many actors on a handful of soap operas, including Kelly Ripa, who appeared on All My Children with the actor.
Sadly, there's another name to add to the list of celebrities we've lost in 2020. John Callahan, a soap opera star who is perhaps best known for his work as Edmund Grey on All My Children, passed away at the age of 66.
"Because there are no words, all i can muster is Rest In Peace #johncallahan," Ripa wrote alongside a photo of Callahan and his former wife, Eva LaRue, while the couple was expecting their daughter, Kaya. "My heart breaks for you @evalarue and @kaya_callahan."
Other stars who had known and worked with Callahan over the years also paid tribute to the actor. Ripa's husband and All My Children alum, Mark Consuelos, commented on his wife's post with a cryptic yet surely meaningful message, writing (via People), "RIP Johnny numbers. 'There's cash..-and then there's cash, cash.' JC."
Sarah Michelle Gellar, who only appeared on All My Children for about two years, obviously formed a bond with Callahan. Sharing a photo of the pair at her high school graduation, she explained, "He stepped into a lot of moments in my life because I didn't have a father to be there. … I promise you … just as you were there for me, I will always be there for smoosh (Kaya) and @evalarue as well."
