The 'Mystic Pop-up Bar' team - Hwang Jung Eum, Yook Sung Jae and Choi Won Young - has finally succeeded solving 100,000 cases, leaving behind a successful conclusion.
According to Nielsen Korea, a ratings agency, on June 27, the final episode of JTBC's Wednesday-Thursday drama 'Mystic Pop-up Bar', which aired the previous day, recorded a viewer ratings of 3.6% for households subscribed to paid platforms based on the Seoul metropolitan area.
In the series finale, Han Kang Bae (played by Yook Sung Jae), the soul of Shin Mok (the Holy Tree), kicked out the evil spirit Kim Won Hyung (played by Na In Woo) from Yeom (played by Lee Joon Hyuk). In the wake of this incident, Wolju (played by Hwang Jung Eum) and Gwibanjang (played by Choi Won Young) realized the shocking fact that Kang Bae was their son's reincarnated soul. However, all they can do is to solve 100,000 cases and fix Kang Bae's curse. While Yeom wanted to be the last guest of the Mystic Pop-up Bar, asking the team to capture his evil son, Kang Bae, who recalled all the memories of his previous life, was caught by Won Hyung.
Gwibanjang was then stabbed to protect Wolju, and disappeared after listening to her confession that she loves him. Wolju went out alone to save Kang Bae, and ended up falling into the void with Won Hyung. It was also that moment that she first heard Kang Bae calling her "Mother".
In the aftermath, Kang Bae continued his relationship with Kang Yeo Rin (played by Jung Da Eun), thinking that Wolju and Gwibanjang had gone forever. However, by sacrificing herself to protect Kang Bae, Wolju resolved her long-cherished desire to save her child's soul, thus becoming the 100,000th case, finishing her initial goal. She was rescued from the void, and gave up on reincarnation to go back to the living world to run the Mystic Pop-up Bar. Gwibanjang then appeared, and the two united.
While the previous lives of Wolju, Kang Bae and Gwibanjang were only painful, they met again in the new Mystic Pop-up Bar, hinting a hopeful new life. The new start of the three at the end made viewers feel overwhelmed with happiness, as their journey concluded after six weeks.
