Jun Ji Hyun and Kang Dong Won’s upcoming Disney+ original series “Tempest”!

On May 29, Disney+ confirmed that “Tempest” is slated to premiere in 2025. “Tempest” follows the story of Moon Ju (Jun Ji Hyun), a diplomat who has built an international reputation as a former ambassador to the United States, as she chases after the truth hidden behind an immense case along with San Ho (Kang Dong Won), a special agent of an unknown nationality.
Jun Ji Hyun will play the role of Moon Ju, who has gained great trust in the international community through her insightful judgement and actions. She discovers that a political scheme involving both North and South Korea is behind an assassination incident.
Kang Dong Won will be taking on the role of the mysterious figure San Ho, a former top-tier international mercenary whose nationality and past are all hidden behind a veil. In addition to this being Kang Dong Won’s first drama in 20 years since “Magic” in 2004, he will also be participating in the project as a producer.
Previously, it was also confirmed that Oh Jung Se will be starring in the drama alongside Jun Ji Hyun and Kang Dong Won.
The upcoming drama is created by screenwriter Jung Seo Kyung and director Kim Hee Won, who previously worked together on “Little Women.” Jung Seo Kyung has also worked on hits including “The Handmaiden,” “Mother,” and “Decision to Leave,” while Kim Hee Won has led productions such as “The Crowned Clown,” “Crash Landing on You,” “Vincenzo,” and more.
