"Song Joong Ki has been confirmed as the '2020 MAMA' host," an Mnet official said on November 24. He will come back to the position after 2 years. So far, Song Joong Ki has been with 'MAMA' as a host in the 2012, 2017 and 2018 ceremonies. This time, he will be the host again and reflect on the meaning of 'MAMA'.
'MAMA' is a global music awards ceremony hosted by CJ ENM. This year marks its 12th anniversary. It started out as Mnet's 'Video Music Awards' in 1999 and was transformed into 'Mnet Asian Music Awards' in 2009 to become what it is today. The main concept of '2020 MAMA' is 'NEW-TOPIA'. Through music, they described the world as 'NEW-TOPIA', a new state where fans from all over the world can be united and meet their idols.
