Amid rumors that all of the members of GOT7 (JB, Mark, Jinyoung, Jackson, Youngjae, BamBam, and Yugyeom) will not renew their exclusive contracts with JYP Entertainment, the agency said that it will announce their official position later.
"It is difficult to confirm the matters that each member is in contact with," JYP Entertainment told Newsen on the afternoon of January 10. "We will let you know as soon as we finalize our position on the contract."
GOT7 debuted on January 16, 2014, and their 7-year exclusive contract with JYP Entertainment expires in January 2021. Each member has had careful discussions with the agency ahead of the end of the contract, as well as other companies which are sending them love calls.
Some members were rumored to consider signing with other agencies. Various officials from the entertainment industry revealed that Jinyoung contacted BH Entertainment, Yugyeom is discussing with AOMG, Youngjae was contacted by Sublime Artist, and BamBam is in talks with MakeUs Entertainment.
