Captain Marvel has a new director to take care of as director Nia DaCosta has been chosen to take the helm of the Marvel sequel.
Nia directs the upcoming Candyman remake, recently been planned to be out on theaters this October, and she was considered as one of the priority options for this coveted directorial gig, according to Deadline.
The filmmaker takes over for the directorial team of Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, who directed the first movie of Captain Marvel in 2019, which made $426.8 million domestic and $1.128 billion worldwide during its public release time on theaters.
Meanwhile, both Disney and Marvel Studios haven't given out any comments or confirmations about the report, Marvel Studios frequently decided to change the director for the upcoming sequel of the superheroes franchise.
Speaking of the studio, Marvel has reportedly been searching for the director position candidate for months, with DaCosta and other directors joined together with the president of the studio, Kevin Feige over the weekend.
