Kelly Clarkson is now happy with the way she is. But when she was "in shape" back then, pressure and stress are what she truly felt. Especially when she was at her thinnest period, Kelly said she put pressure on herself to be as skinny as the model on magazines' cover.
Maybe the weight is also a weight on someone's shoulders. Answer to this issue, Kelly has never been hesitated to speak out about her weight while working in the music industry.
In a new interview, the 'Because of you' singer the pressure was always in her mind no matter she was already at her thinnest shape. And that was what made her determined on losing more weight as possible.
“I’ve had this discussion with many females in the industry. I felt more pressure from people actually when I was thin, when I was really thin and not super healthy because I just was worn out, just working so hard and not keeping healthy habits,”, Kelly said.
She continues.“But I felt more pressure. It was more of magazines shoved in front of you and, ‘This is what you’re competing with and we’ve got to compete with it.’ I can’t compete with that. That’s not even my image. That’s not who I am. That’s who they are. We’re all different and it’s okay,”
Despite Kelly's worries, her singing talent and communicating with guests on her talk show ability are what fans love her for. After having two kids, daughter River Rose, 6-year-old and son Remington, 4-year-old, she lost 40 pounds in 2018. But she did it in a healthy and stable way, and never got that 'skinny'.
Kelly Clarkson also showed her appreciation on NBC executive Paul Telegdy for focusing on her skill and talent, not the 'sex appeal' or appearance when she was hired to be a coach for The Voice America. And then her own daytime talk show.
