Previously in November, it was confirmed that Lee Jong Suk was positively reviewing the offer to play the male lead in the new drama “My Relationship That I Also Oppose” (literal title).
In September, both Go Min Si and Choi Hyun Wook were also in talks for the drama, but by October, Choi Hyun Wook had turned down his offer due to scheduling conflicts.
On December 26, STARNEWS reported that both Lee Jong Suk and Go Min Si had ultimately decided not to accept their offers. In response to the report, the drama’s production company Studio Dragon stated, “Lee Jong Suk has decided not to star [in the drama] due to scheduling conflicts with his film shooting.” However, the production company refuted the rumor about Go Min Si’s casting falling through, stating that the rumor is groundless and that they have not yet received a definitive response from her side.
Studio Dragon further clarified, “We are currently discussing various options for the broadcast schedule and advancing with the casting process. The rumors suggesting that the production has been canceled are untrue.”
“My Relationship That I Also Oppose” is a highly anticipated romance drama directed by Lee Eung Bok, known for hit series such as “Descendants of the Sun,” “Guardian: The Lonely and Great God” (also known as “Goblin”), “Mr. Sunshine,” “Sweet Home,” and “Jirisan.” The script is penned by Kim Eun of “Something in the Rain.”
The drama deals with the subject of whether a reunion with an ex is a continuation of a familiar relationship or the start of an unknown relationship. With its focus on the theme of rekindling first loves, the drama is poised to strike a chord with viewers.
