The '2020 APAN STAR AWARDS', an all-channel drama awards ceremony hosted and organized by the Korea Entertainment Management Association, and the ‘2020 APAN MUSIC AWARDS’, the first integrated music awards ceremony officially recognized by related organizations in the pop culture and arts industry in South Korea, have decided to postpone their events scheduled for two days on November 28 and November 29.
The '2020 APAN AWARDS' organizing committee said, "We decided to postpone the schedule because the social distance control in Seoul and the metropolitan area has been upgraded to level 1.5 due to the rapid spread of COVID-19, which will take effect on November 19."
Accordingly, as the control has been upgraded to level 1.5, all public concerts and events at gyms and other venues will be banned from gathering more than 100 people.
Kang Min, chairman of the organizing committee, said, "We express our deepest condolences to the people who continue their daily lives amid fear and inconvenience due to the rapid spread of the COVID-19 in the Korean community, and we are sorry to postpone this awards ceremony, which encourages and honors artists leading pop culture art and those in the pop culture and arts industry, who manage to work even in difficult times, but we have to make it a top priority to protect the health and safety of pop culture artists and people."
Sohn Sung Min, chairman of the executive committee, also said, "We will closely monitor the future trends of the COVID-19 outbreak and coordinate the schedule after establishing ways to thoroughly follow relevant quarantine measures and preventive guidelines. We will make every effort to ensure safety so that it can be a more successful awards ceremony."
