K-pop Radar Unveils the 10 Most-Viewed Music Videos for the 7th Week of 2021
On Monday, Feb. 15, K-pop Radar issued its "Weekly Top 10 Music Videos" rankings for the seventh week (Feb. 7 - Feb. 13) of 2021. Continue reading to know which K-pop music videos were the most-viewed.
BTS's "Dynamite" Once Again Ranks First
The music video for BTS's "Dynamite" has once again had the highest number of views for four weeks in a row in 2021. This is the boy group's 11th time to be atop the chart with their first English-language song. According to K-pop Radar's latest "Top 10 Music Videos" rankings, the MV for BTS's "Dynamite" had additional views of 15,656,370 within the seventh week of 2021, the highest among the K-pop music videos.
For the sixth week of 2021, which is the first week of February, the MV also had more than 15 million YouTube views. This means that in the first two weeks of February, BTS's "Dynamite" MV has already increased by over 30 million views. Currently, the video has more than 850 million views and is expected to hit one billion by mid-April.
aespa's "Forever" Climbs to No. 2
SM Entertainment's new girl group aespa has made its way back to the top 5 with its new song "Forever." The quartet was at No. 16 last week, meaning it made 14 jumps to get to its latest position on K-pop Radar's "Weekly Top 10 Music Videos" rankings. Also, this shows that aespa's "Forever" MV has seen a great increase in views in the past week, having additional views of 9,840,718.
The rookie group's new song was dropped on Feb. 5, and in only 11 days, the music video already reached more than 15 million views. On top of that, aespa's "Forever" became the most-viewed K-pop music video as of Feb. 6 after it hit 3.5 million views.
PSY's "Gangnam Style" Stays Strong at No. 3
Sitting in third place is a music video that was dropped back in July 2012, but until now, it has been seeing a consistent rise in its YouTube views - it is none other than PSY's "Gangnam Style." Last week, the MV gained 9,128,336 new views and as of Feb. 16, it has 3.9 billion views, meaning it will be hitting four billion views anytime soon.
Previously, the music video for PSY's "Gangnam Style" was announced to be the first video on YouTube to exceed one billion views. It even earned the Guinness World Record for the most liked video on the platform at that time.
New Entry to the Seventh-Week "Top 10 Music Videos" Rankings
In the latest rankings for the "Top 10 Music Videos" of K-pop Radar, Kim Woo Seok made it to the rankings for the first time and entered the top 5, charting at No. 4 with his new song "Sugar." Despite only being launched five days before the seventh week of 2021 concluded, the single still managed to soar high on the chart with 8,264,091 additional YouTube views. "Sugar" serves as the title track of Kim Woo Seok's second solo extended play "2nd Desire [Tasty]."
