tvN's new drama 'A Falling Cohabitation', which is scheduled to air in the first half of 2021, is a romantic comedy about a 999-year-old Gumiho (a nine-tailed fox) having to live with a college student in the same room after an accident. The drama is based on the Naver's popular webtoon of the same name with a rating of 9.97, which began serializing in 2017.
Jang Ki Yong will play the role of the 999-year-old Gumiho, 'Shin Woo Yeo', who is about to become a human being. Shin Woo Yeo has been collecting human energy in beads for 999 years to become a human being, and is a serious character with a beautiful appearance, as well as 900 years of great intellectual ability.
Jang Ki Yong is said to be highly suitable for the role, having a beautiful appearance, solid physique, with his good and sweet aura. The actor, who exploded the charm of a reliable younger man in his previous work 'Search: WWW', is expected to captivate the audience's heart once again with his performance as a young-looking person who lived 999 years.
Lee Hyeri from girl group Girl’s Day will play the role of 'Lee Dam', a young college student of the modern time. Lee Dam swallowed Shin Woo Yeo's bead in an accident and is far from a dating girl due to her firm and strong self-objectivity.
Through the dramas 'Miss Lee' and 'Reply 1988', Hyeri boasts stable acting skills, solidifying her position as an actress and is loved by the public. As a result, attention is drawn to the charm Hyeri will show in 'A Falling Cohabitation'.
While the meeting between Jang Ki Yong and Lee Hyeri, who perfectly fit the roles in the original webtoon, is raising expectations among drama fans, the lineup of the most fantastic production team in webtoon dramatization has also been unveiled, further raising interest.
Writer Baek Sun Woo, who led the success of the webtoon-based drama 'What's Wrong with Secretary Kim?', which did so well in terms of both popularity and ratings, will join forces with writer Choi Bo Rim and director Nam Sung Woo, who showed off his brilliant directing skills with Kkondae Intern', to complete the production lineup.
Meanwhile, 'A Falling Cohabitation' will air on tvN in 2021.
