The New York Times wrote about the drama, "The wizards of South Korean TV drama can play countless variations on the romantic comedy. 'It’s Okay To Not Be Okay' is produced by Studio Dragon, which produced tvN's drama 'Stranger'. The first season of 'Stranger' was also honored on New York Times’ 'Top 10 International Shows Of 2017'.

‘It’s Okay To Not Be Okay’ is a rather strange romantic comedy about a fairy tale-like love between Moon Kang Tae (played by Kim Soo Hyun), a mental ward guardian who refuses to love due to his heavy life, and a fairy tale writer, Ko Ye Young (played by Seo Ye Ji), who doesn't know love due to a natural defect, as they take care of each other's wounds.
