After Dua Lipa, Lady Gaga, Selena Gomez and Cardi B, seems like the possibilities of collaborations between the YG girl group and other Western artists are not a dream anymore.
Specifically, the account called Pop Crave – which is an updated account about news of the music industry posted a 20-second clip. This originally came from BLACKPINK: Light Up The Sky documentary, recording the scenes of Jennie and Lisa practicing dancing in their pre-debut days.
As sharing in the documentary, two girls were performing 23 for their monthly eliminating test. 23 is a song of Miley Cyrus, Wiz Khalifa and Juicy J releasing in 2013.
Then, the singer replied to 𝐏𝐨𝐩 𝐂𝐫𝐚𝐯𝐞 with 3 black heart emojis. This act of Miley has made fans overwhelming and quickly reacted to this interaction. Most of them express their desire for the artists to have a collaboration, just like other featured projects of BLACKPINK and Western artists. Sometimes, chances come from such simple conditions.
Dua Lipa is the first Western artist that BLACKPINK collab with for the song “Kiss and Makeup”, which contains an electro-pop tune. Then “Sour Candy” was the featuring song of Lady Gaga and the girl group with electro tune added classic 70s sound.
Move to Ice Cream, SelPink portrayed a sweet and adorable image, along with a catchy beat. With “Bet You Wanna” which is the featured song between BLACKPINK and Cardi B, they succeeded in bringing the US-UK pop influences into the beat.
As you may not know, this is not the first time Miley and BLACKPINK have these adorable interactions. In 2019, Rosé posted in her Instagram’s story that she was listenning to Slide Away by Miley Cyrus. One way or another, Miley saw this and seemed to be extremely happy. She reposted this on her Instagram with a heart emoji, though Rosé didn’t tag Miley.
If there is any chance for Miley and BLACKPINK to work together, which music genre do you think will they work on?
