According to News1 on August 6, Lee Sun Hee, Yoo Hee Yeol and Kyuhyun confirmed their appearance as judges for JTBC’s new entertainment show ‘Sing Again’.
‘Sing Again’ will be directed by CP Yoon Hyun Joon, PD Kim Hak Min and PD Park Ji Ye, who created ‘Newtro Syndrome’ and ‘Sugarman 3’. Earlier, it’s been confirmed that singer and actor Lee Seung Gi, who is active in various fields, will join the show as the main host.
‘Sing Again’ is a new-concept audition program to help singers who need one more chance to stand in front of the audience again, including unpopular singers that the world hasn’t recognized and singers who once went well but are now forgotten. As it is a program to reexamine those who have experienced failures and frustrations, the key was to invite judges who show their sincerity while sympathizing with the purpose of the project.
Yoo Hee Yeol already confirmed his appearance as a judge. Earlier, Yoo Hee Yeol said, “Many singers made their debut with difficulty and quickly disappeared after unable to get on the charts,” adding, “I decided to join the show because I thought it would be a meaningful program for everyone who is dreaming of another chance.”
At the same time, Korea’s “national diva” Lee Sun Hee will join the judge panel. With long experience, she is expected to lead the “re-discovery” of singers. When she was a judge for MBC’s ‘Star Audition: The Great Birth’ in 2011, Lee Sun Hee also led the cast with warm advices.
The addition of Kyuhyun is also drawing attention. Kyuhyun started out as a member of the idol group Super Junior and succeeded as a solo singer. He has experienced various fields such as ballads and dance. Kyuhyun’s role is also expected to be large, as ‘Sing Again’ will feature a variety of performers, including former idols.
In addition to Yoo Hee Yeol, Lee Sun Hee and Kyuhyun, the production team is adding other judges from various fields. ‘Sing Again’ will begin filming after completing the casting of contestants and judges. It is scheduled to air some time in the second half of this year.
