On September 18, Kim Min Jae’s agency YAMYAM Entertainment shared, “Kim Min Jae will be enlisting in the military today. Please send warm support to Kim Min Jae who will return in good health after dutifully carrying out his military service.”
YAMYAM Entertainment shared a photo of Kim Min Jae enlisting in the military, while Kim Min Jae shared on his Instagram Stories a photo of the hair he cut off for his buzz cut and the text, “I will return in good health.”
Kim Min Jae’s “Dali and Cocky Star” co-star Hwang Bo Ra also took to Instagram to share a screenshot from her video call with Kim Jae Min. She wrote, “Ah, our Min Jae video called because today is his enlistment date. I felt like tearing up like I was sending my younger brother [off to the military] after seeing his buzz cut. I met him through a project, but he’s a younger brother I feel affectionate for. He’s returning March 2025. After you return, let’s sweep the Korean film [industry]. Love you, come back safely.”
Earlier on September 6, Kim Min Jae personally shared news of his military enlistment, saying, “I will be joining the military band, and although I feel regret and sad at the thought of not being able to see you for a while, I am also excited and grateful to be able to experience and learn more through my military service.”

After entering the recruit training center on September 18, Kim Min Jae will undergo basic military training and serve in the military band.
