Last week, on June 5, a college student was a hit by a garbage truck on the Dongduk Women’s University campus, and she died several days later in the hospital.
For the past three days, Dongduk Women’s University students have been protesting on campus to voice their concerns about the safety of the area where the incident took place.
While Kim Min Jae was originally scheduled to hold a fan meeting at the university on June 17, his agency announced on June 15—just two days before the fan meeting was scheduled to take place—that the event had been cancelled in light of the tragedy.
Kim Min Jae’s agency’s full statement is as follows:
Hello, this is Nyam Nyam Entertainment.
Due to the recent accident that took place near the venue, we have determined that it will be difficult to proceed normally with Kim Min Jae’s first fan meeting “Telepathy,” which was scheduled to take place at Dongduk Women’s University’s Centennial Memorial Hall on Saturday, June 17. Therefore, we have made the unavoidable decision to cancel it.
As we made the decision to cancel the fan meeting due to our deep mourning in regards to the accident near the venue, we ask for your generous understanding, and we apologize to the fans who must have been eagerly waiting for the fan meeting.
We will make another announcement about rescheduling the fan meeting at a later time.
Purchased tickets will be refunded separately by each ticket vendor.
