Their agency MBK Entertainment confirmed on November 12 that, "DIA is planning and preparing for a comeback in January next year". Jung Chaeyeon, who was absent from the group's previous comeback for personal reasons, will also join the activities.
Jung Chaeyeon was absent from DIA's sixth mini-album 'Flower 4 Seasons' in June, causing fans to worry. The sudden comeback of the group with only 5 members was rumored to stem from a discord. In response, DIA members dismissed the rumors at their comeback showcase, saying that the reason for Jung Chaeyeon's absence was "because she personally seems to need more time."
Chaeyeon made her debut in the K-Pop scene with DIA in 2015. The following year, she temporarily withdrew from the team with Ki Huihyeon to compete on Mnet's 'Produce 101', and was among the final 11 members, working as the project group I.O.I. After the contract of I.O.I. expired, she returned to DIA.
Chaeyeon, who was active in various other fields, including dramas and entertainment shows, clearly showed a decrease in her activities in the music field, including those with DIA. However, she has been active on Instagram and has been communicating with fans. After having rested for a while, Chaeyeon is expected to show more mature charm through this comeback together with DIA.
