Nam Goong Min Confirmed To Star In MBC New Drama 'Black Sun' In 2021

MBC has confirmed the formation of the blockbuster spy action drama 'Black Sun' starring Nam Goong Min. It will air in the second half of 2021.

'Black Sun' (written by Park Seok Ho, directed by Kim Sung Yong) is a blockbuster masterpiece produced by MBC and Wave with an investment of 15 billion won. The 12-part story takes place when the top NIS field agent, who went missing a year ago, returns to the organization to find an internal traitor who dropped him into the abyss.

Nam Goong Min has confirmed his appearance in the drama as Han Ji Hyuk, the best field agent of NIS. Han Ji Hyuk was a "surprise" to his colleagues due to his shrewd and perfect work performance, but he disappeared overnight, leaving the organization in a crisis, and then returning to shake up the organization after a year.

Actor Nam Goong Min, who has been loved by viewers for his irreplaceable presence through various genres such as the drama 'Hot Stove League', 'Doctor Prisoner,' 'Falsify' and 'Good Manager', is further raising expectations for the drama as he plays the first NIS agent role in his life. The star, who returned to MBC eight years after 'Hur Jun, the Original Story', is already drawing attention from broadcasters for his explosive acting skills and strong presence to be shown in 'Black Sun.'

'Black Sun' is the winner of the '2018 MBC Drama Screenplay Contest' by Park Seok Ho. In addition, producer Kim Sung Yong, who directed 'Flowers of the Prison' and 'My Healing Love', will helm the film to open a new horizon for Korean spy action dramas.

MBC's new drama 'Black Sun' is scheduled to meet viewers in the second half of 2021, and will begin production in earnest starting with the confirmation of Nam Goong Min's casting.
