Singer and actor IU will star in Japanese director Hirokazu Koreeda's first Korean film production, titled 'Broker', with other top stars.

An official of the movie 'Broker' revealed on February 1 that IU (real name Lee Ji Eun) has confirmed her appearance in 'Broker'.
'Broker' is a new film about people who became involved in a 'Baby Box', which is designed to allow people who cannot raise children to leave their babies anonymously.
Director Hirokazu Koreeda, who won the Jury Prize at the Cannes International Film Festival for 'Like Father, Like Son' and the Palme d'Or for 'Shoplifters' will helm the movie. Meanwhile, top actors Song Kang Ho, Kang Dong Won and Bae Doo Na have confirmed their appearance, raising expectations.
IU starred in the drama 'My Mister' and 'Hotel Del Luna', which are both commercial hits. Recently, she also joined the cast of the movie 'Dream' with actor Park Seo Joon, directed by Lee Byung Hun. Attention is focusing on what kind of acting IU will show in 'Broker' with her senior Song Kang Ho, Kang Dong Won and Bae Doo Na.
Meanwhile, director Hirokazu Koreeda's first Korean film, 'Broker', is currently working on a scenario and is scheduled to start filming this year.
'Broker' is made by the film company that produced '#Alive', 'Default', and 'The Priests'. CJ ENM will invest and distribute the movie.
