The 34-year-old actor, Shia LaBeouf who is well-known after his performance in the Transformers franchise Disturbia movie, is reported to be in the middle of discussion for being Moon Knight from the Marvel comics.
The character will be used in the Marvel Cinematic Universe's upcoming X-Men reboot, according to an unconfirmed report from We Got This Covered.
However, he's not one of the top choices for the producers despite the report had been spread. There is also no hint about who would be the No.1 option for the character or whether Moon Knight will appear in the reboot or not.
Moon Knight first appeared in the Marvel Comics in Werewolf By Night #32 which was published in August 1975. The character was originally created by Doug Moench and Don Perlin, who has often drawn comparisons to the Batman of DC comics.
These two characters have things in common as they both are eccentric billionaires with wealthy backgrounds and they use their own money to fund their crime-fighting activities and pay for their high-tech equipment.
Compared to Batman who is just human, Moon Knight actually has super-human abilities with his source of power gaining from the strength of the moon such as super strength and endurance.
In daily routine, he is just Marc Spector with many different alternate identities to hide his true self, such as his billionaire persona Steven Grant and a lowly cab driver Jake Lockley. These roles will help him keep his secret while being part of his mission and crime elements he's fighting.
Maybe the name is unfamiliar with lots of people but he actually has been a member of several different superhero groups such as the Avengers, Secret Avengers, West Coast Avengers, Marvel Knights and Heroes For Hire.
There is no indication of how many or which of these multiple identities will be chosen to be portrayed in the upcoming X-Men movie reboot project.
Shia LaBeouf is coming off The Tax Collector movie of David Ayer which was released last week, and two other movies from last year, Honey Boy and The Peanut Butter Falcon.
Another project of Pieces of a Woman that is currently in post-production, with him starring next to Sarah Snook and Vanessa Kirby as his co-stars.
