Actor Jamie Foxx, 52-year-old, has recently followed a strict diet in order to gain about 20kg because he will be performing the role of legendary boxer Mike Tyson in a new movie, which is a biography about the boxer's life and career.
According to CNN, Foxx has revealed a designed diet and exercise routine of his own with the aim of reaching 98kg and continuing raising to 104kg during the set.
Daily, the actor does 60x pull-ups, 60x dips triceps and 100x push-ups. He will add more exercises which focuses to the muscles and biceps. Before the strict routine, Foxx's weight was between 75kg to 85kg.
The official announcement for Mike's role first took place in 2014. However, the project has been in a delay for almost 6 years. The actor said that the project didn't get canceled, and he has been practicing to prepare for the role in perfect shape. Besides, he also revealed the producer is planning on using special visual effects to create the image of Mike Tyson in the most attractive way.
Jamie Foxx said that the first time he met Mike was after a stand-up comedy show, when Jamie was just 22 years old. He pointed at the boxer while standing on stage and telling a funny story about Mike, said: "I think the movie will help people know more about his journey."
The 52-year-old has been famous for the ability to act for varied types of characters, and also, in gaining-and-losing weights process. In 2003, Foxx used to exercise for his 100kg-gaining in Redemption. Then he had to lose about 32kg in a year to fit in the role of a blinded musician named Ray Charles, which was the act that helped him got an Oscar.
