Ed Sheeran has ended his 10-month retirement from the music world as he is revealed to have been writing a new song for South African singer Jeremy Loops.
The 29-year-old musician shocked fans last year when he announced he was taking time out of music making and touring following the conclusion of his successful Divide World Tour.
Since then, the star has turned his hand to becoming a pub owner and making his own brand of beer as he spends lockdown in his Suffolk mansion.
But it seems keeping away from the music has been an impossibility for the singer, as he has been writing a new song for South African singer Jeremy Loops.
Jeremy Loops revealed, “I arrived early in the morning and we worked all day on a few different songs. He’s known to be a very fast writer. He’s very fluid and moves quickly. He can work with whoever he wants, so there’s something beautiful about the fact that he wanted to work with me. I couldn’t have called him and been like, ‘Yeah, I want to work together, like, get ready’.”
Jeremy explained that the writing session took part before COVID-19 lockdown measures were introduced.
Last month, it was revealed that Ed had turned to beer making while in lockdown.
Ed Sheeran ordered a batch of make-your-own craft beer kits to start brewing up some ales to serve in his make-shift pub, The Lancaster Lock – located on his £3.7 million Suffolk estate.
The singer built his pub in 2017 and named if after his wife, Cherry Lancaster Seaborn, who he tied-the-knot with in January 2018.
A source said: “Ed loves his beer - especially his real ales and craft beers. He’s had a few kits delivered and has been having fun making his own drinks. They aren’t too bad but he doesn’t think any of the major breweries have got anything to worry about just yet.”
