IZ*ONE premiered their new mini album through an Mnet comeback show!
On June 15, IZ*ONE made their return with the mini-album “Oneiric Diary” and its title track “Secret Story of the Swan.” That evening, a comeback show aired on Mnet featuring first performances of their new tracks, the members taking on the challenge of an escape room, and more.
During the show, they sent sweet messages to each other through video. Jang Won Young said, “I think of you as my family” and Miyawaki Sakura said, “I feel like I have a new family.”
Kim Min Joo expressed her gratitude in particular to Kwon Eun Bi, and Kang Hye Won shared that their leader will often send long messages to their group chat when they’re going through a hard time. Choi Ye Na said, “I think she must have a greater weight on her shoulders because she’s the leader.”
Kwon Eun Bi began to cry silently as she listened to the words of the younger members. Kim Chae Won said, “It must be hard for you to always be taking care of the 11 of us, but I’m so grateful because it seems like you’re always trying to understand how each of us feel.”
Jo Yu Ri was next, and she said, “Whenever the 11 of us are struggling with something, we go to you first. We all talk about our worries with you, but I’m worried that maybe there’s nowhere for you to talk about your own worries, and maybe you’re going through hard things all on your own. When you’re having a hard time, you should talk to us and lean on us. Please come and lean on me whenever you’re struggling.”
Lee Chae Yeon shared how grateful she is that Kwon Eun Bi always listens to what she has to say, worries about her, comforts her, and sympathizes with her. “That’s why I really rely on you,” she said. “I’m going to keep leaning on you a lot, so I hope that you’ll talk to me a lot too. I love you!” She commented that it might be the first time she was saying “I love you” to Kwon Eun Bi.
In her own video message, Kwon Eun Bi said each of the members’ names and called them her precious dongsaengs (younger siblings or friends). She said, “I think it’s a real blessing that the 12 of us were able to come together and be IZ*ONE. I hope we’ll be together for the rest of our lives, and I hope that we work hard at promotions for this album too.”
Kwon Eun Bi was overcome with emotion as she watched the videos, and Kim Min Joo said, “I think you were going through a hard time too.”
Kwon Eun Bi said, “I’m trying to lead, but because I’m not perfect, I think I haven’t done a good job. I haven’t shown it, but I feel a bit of a burden.” The members comforted her by saying, “It’s thanks to you that we’ve come this far.”
