Yoo Jae Suk, Lee Hyori, and Rain, who have known as best friends, have surprised viewers with a live broadcast, via 'Hangout With Yoo's official YouTube channel when promoting as the co-ed group named SSAK3.
Previously, Yoo Jae Suk, Lee Hyori, and Rain confirmed that they would be forming a co-ed group through the “summer dance music” project on MBC’s “How Do You Play?”. On June 4, the upcoming project group held a YouTube live broadcast in which they reveal their group name.
The live broadcast was titled 'Please Give Us A Group Name', the three co-ed group members decided to look through many of the group name suggestions sent in by viewers during the live.
During the broad cast, netizens suggest for some of the names, 'YooHyoBi' to 'YooRiBi', 'NaLeeTae (combining the names of the three stars' spouses = Na Kyung Eun + Lee Sang Soon + Kim Tae Hee)', 'Hyori and the Two Daddys', etc. While reading through the suggestions, Rain said, "I want it to have a refreshing vibe. We're all pretty old so we want a youthful feel. I suggest 'Summer Peach'."
And finally, they decided to promote under the name SSAK3. The name in Korean is similar to the word SsakSseulYi, which means to sweep. The members decided on the name to represent that they would be sweeping the music charts. As Yoo Jae Suk said: ""Sweep up the summer, sweep up the music charts".
The three members also decided on their new stage names for their co-ed group. Yoo Jae Suk leaned towards the stage name Yoo-Dragon, which is a reference to BIGBANG’s G-Dragon. Lee Hyori's stage name was already decided as Linda, an alter ego of herself who "owns over 200 businesses in Los Angeles". Rain revealed that he would take some more time to decide between the names Beat and B-Ryong, which means that he will become the dragon of the world of singers. Yoo Jae Suk’s and Rain’s final decisions will be revealed in the June 6 broadcast of “How Do You Play?”
Although Lee Hyori and Rain are confirmed as members of the co-ed dance group, other members may be added to the group. SSAK3 will make its debut on July 18.
“How Do You Play?” will be broadcast on Saturdays at 6:30 p.m. KST.
