BLACKPINK continues to dominate numerous music charts around. Called the "Queens of K-Pop," Jennie, Lisa, Jisoo and Rosé's tracks from "THE ALBUM" are among the most-streamed and most-requested songs up to this writing.
BLACKPINK Extends Domination on MelOn Daily Chart with 'Lovesick Girls'
There is no denying that "Lovesick Girls" is one of the most successful songs of BLACKPINK. Released on Oct. 2, 2020, the said track effortlessly topped some of the major music streaming sites and charts.
As a matter of fact, the song peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. Chart, at No. 59 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, at No. 2 on the Billboard Global 200 Chart. "Lovesick Girls" even penetrated other territories including the United Kingdom, Singapore, Malaysia, New Zealand, France, Japan, Australia, Ireland, Canada, Slovakia, Portugal and Scotland among others.
The official music video of "Lovesick Girls" also made records after it collected more than 61 million views in its first 24 hours since the official release. Because of the remarkable feat of the BLACKPINK song, it became the sixth biggest 24-hour debut for a music video on YouTube.
At the moment, the "Lovesick Girls" music video already garnered more than 346 million views on the video-streaming site. It also collected more than 11 million likes and 1.9 million comments.
Recently, BLACKPINK reached another milestone after "Lovesick Girls" extended its domination as the longest-running song by a female group in the Top 10 MelOn Daily Chart. The track has been dominating the chart for a total of 127 days, roughly 17 weeks, already.
Aside from "Lovesick Girls," other BLACKPINK songs that spent numerous months in the Top 10 MelON Daily Chart are "DDU-DU DDU-DU," which topped the list in June, July, August and September of 2018, and "How You Like That," which charted in July, August, September and October of 2020.
BLACKPINK Topped Gaon's Social Chart 2.0 Again
Meanwhile, BLACKPINK has dominated the Social Chart 2.0 of Gaon for the Jan. 24, 2021 to Jan. 31, 2021 week. Jennie, Lisa, Jisoo and Rosé pushed BTS, which is composed on Jin, Jimin, Jungkook, J-Hope, V, Suga and RM, on the second spot. Song Ga In, then, followed in the third spot with HyunA and Im Young Woong at the fourth and fifth ranks, respectively.
"THE ALBUM" by BLACKPINK also secured the third spot on the Gaon Album Chart. "Dystopia: Road to Utopia" by Dreamcatcher was proclaimed the top album this week. "YES" by Golden Child, which previously debuted at No. 1, nabbed the second spot. "Lucky Man" by iKON member Bobby and "SEASON 3 HIDEOUT: BE OUR VOICE" by CRAVITY got the fourth and fifth ranks.
"THE ALBUM" has also been making waves in other countries. In fact, it is currently at No. 12 on the Hungary Albums Chart and at No. 60 on the Scotland Albums Chart. "How You Like That" by BLACKPINK was also proclaimed as the most streamed song by a female group on YouTube with 27.6 million streams for the week ending Feb. 4.
