Being a manager for K-Pop idols is not easy, that's why all groups have a special appreciation for their managers, especially for the following 4 groups, whose managers are even well-known to fans.
1. CRAVITY
CRAVITY often tell stories about their managers, whether it’s when he bought them coffee, joked around with them or praised them. In one of their C-Record vlogs, member Hyeongjun was on his way for the CSAT test and was expressing how nervous he was.
His manager then did his best to calm him down, saying, "Once you get there, it doesn’t feel serious as you think. It just feels like any other test you take at school."
His tone of voice was gentle and comforing, and Hyeongjun seemed eased after listening to his advice.
2. SHINee
SHINee, especially Taemin, have the funniest relationship with their manager, Nam Eui Soo. In the six years (and counting) that Eui Soo has worked with the group, Taemin has been seen teasing him all the time.
His recent live broadcasts exposing Eui Soo’s love life have been circulating social media platforms, but this teasing can easily be traced back to years ago!
In 2016, after Taemin won a trophy at 'Show Champion' with 'Press Your Number', he egged Eui Soo on until he finally gave in and danced to the song backstage, making everyone laugh.
Even though he loves to play tricks and joke around with Eui Soo, Taemin definitely has a deep appreciation for him. In an episode of VIXX Ravi’s podcast, Ravi’s Close Up, Taemin shared about a more serious side of his relationship with Eui Soo that runs deeper than all the teasing.
Taemin said, "There’s nothing he hates. When I think that something looks bad, he’s like, 'Oh, it looks good!'. He’s satisfied with anything. The king of positivity! I’m kind of a king of negativity. He and I make a good balance, because without him, I might have gone too deep inside of myself and get stuck in trauma. He is the guy who saved me from there. He doesn’t just play the role of a manager."
3. N.Flying
N.Flying drummer and guitarist Jaehyun and Cha Hun, who are known as the "2IDIOTS" duo to fans, often play tricks with their manager and even post videos of him on their own YouTube channel. Much like Taemin, their relationship with their manager is deeply rooted in joking. There are many videos of them luring their manager into doing all kinds of funny challenges…
For instance, in a video, they spent the whole day to give their manager a makeover! They started off by lightheartedly making fun of his style, before saying that they would be his personal make-up artists for the day. The two then dragged him through shops, putting together three outfits that he then had to wear at the end. Although their manager looked apprehensive, it’s obvious he was enjoying the day with them – especially as he dished the sass right back!
4. Dreamcatcher
Dreamcatcher are known to tease each other a lot, so it’s easy to guess what they would do to their managers. Yes, teasing! However, that's because they’re also really close with the managers, and once even threw a surprise birthday party for the managers!
In addition, showing that they take care of the managers just like the managers take care of them, on a segment of MBC‘s 'Good Job Today' for their 'Show Champion' music show, Dreamcatcher had to order drinks from a coffee truck as part of the interview. As they were wrapping up their order, the girls made sure to order extra tea to give their managers. The host, who was running the coffee truck, then revealed that Dreamcatcher were the only group who had taken their managers into account!
