The money donated by Jimin shall help support outstanding and talented students of arts through a fund called the BTS Jimin Scholarship.
On December 8th, the Jeonnam Future Education Foundation, led by Chairman Seok-Woong Jang, held a board of directors meeting and decided to promote a scholarship project worth 966,660,000 Korean won (890,000 USD) in 2021.
It can be remembered in August 2020, it was reported late that Jimin made a generous donation of 100 million won (92,000 USD) to the students of Jeolla province. This sum that Jimin donated shall be established as the BTS Jimin Scholarship, which amounts to 108 million won (100,000 USD) and for three years will be used to fund outstanding talents in the art field in Jeonnam. The scholarships will be awarded beginning 2021.
Such news has impressed and drew attention from netizens and shared their messages of love and support for Jimin’s act of kindness. Jimin has been known to consistently making donations to good causes, most especially for education. Jimin, himself, has experienced how education can be financially challenging and remembered the time he has received support from his teacher, which helped him pursue the field of dance.
Further, it has been pointed out that such a donation made by Jimin for students of Jeollado meant so special as he donated it outside of his hometown in Korea.
