MBN reports on November 23 that through his final holiday vacation, EXO Xiumin has left the military and won't be returning to his unit, according to the COVID-19 policy. However, he will carry his military status until December 6, when he is formally discharged.
Xiumin enlisted in the military on May 7 last year and fulfilled his national defense duty after receiving basic military training.
He was also cast in the Army Creative Musical 'Return' last year and played the role of young Seung Ho, as well as the role of Hyun Min in a reenactment the following year.

After that, he will leave his last year's vacation and serve as a soldier, and will be formally discharged on December 6, as he was scheduled to be discharged from the military on that day.
Earlier, the Ministry of National Defense issued a directive asking soldiers who went on a late-year leave to not return to the military to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
As a result, Xiumin has now become the first member of EXO to be discharged from the military. His fellow member D.O., who joined the military in July last year, is also set to be discharged in January next year, while Suho and Chen are also fulfilling their national defense duty.
