Today (January 25), EXO D.O. will not return to the military after his final vacation, according to the health guidelines to prevent the spread of COVID-19. He is the second member of EXO after Xiumin, the oldest member, to complete his national defense duty.
On December 28 last year, EXO's agency SM Entertainment said, "D.O. is on his last vacation before being discharged from the military, and he will not return to the military on January 25 according to the instructions to prevent COVID-19." They added, "There will be no separate celebration due to the COVID-19 situation, and he will quietly finish his military service."
On July 1, 2019, D.O. also joined the army without any special events. He served as a cook in the Air Defense Battalion of the Capital Mechanized Infantry Division and also played the main role in the military musical titled 'The Return'. In November last year, D.O. participated in the 'Proud' challenge on the Military Manpower Administration's official SNS and made headlines.
D.O., who debuted as a member of EXO in 2012, became a representative idol in South Korea by releasing numerous hit songs such as 'Wolf', 'Growl', 'Overdose', 'Call Me Baby', 'Kokopop' and 'Love Shot'. In addition, D.O. has also succeeded in establishing himself as actor Do Kyung Soo by appearing in dramas 'It's Okay, That's Love', '100 Days My Prince', as well as the movies 'Swing Kids' and 'Along with the Gods'.
D.O. decided his next film would be 'The Moon', a film about a man left alone in space by accident and another man on Earth trying to get him back safely. D.O. is set to begin filming the movie in the first half of this year, playing the isolated astronaut on the moon.
Expectations are high on D.O.'s future performance as an actor and a member of EXO.
