ARMYs and BLINKs were very much delighted after the company released a statement, saying that it, recently, topped the brand reputation ranking because of BTS member V and BLACKPINK member Jennie. Lotte Chilsung revealed that its operating profit increased significantly in the first quarter of 2021 due to its on-demand liquor products.
It was divulged that the Lotte Chilsung Beverage saw that its sales rise to 538.8 billion won - thanks to the popularity of its flagship beer brand Kloud, which V and other BTS members have endorsed. The company made a total of 9.3 billion won in the first quarter of the current year after it recorded a deficit of 17.6 billion won last year.
A company official said that the liquor department of Lotte Chilsung Beverage has been doing great in the past few months in terms of sales. The swollen demand for liquor amid the COVID-19 pandemic led to a rise in operating profit and performance of the brand.
The solo advertisement of BTS V, which was released on April 16, was credited for the most recent success of Lotte Chilsung Beverage as it helped attract people from various age groups. Aside from the "Life Goes On" singer, BLACKPINK member Jennie was also named as one of the reasons behind the massive gain of Chum Churum soju drink.
As a matter of fact, Lotte Chilsung Beverage was able to garner a total of 9,830,626 points. Because of this, the company was able to dominate the beverage brand reputation for the month of April, which is actually the first time. The brand even beat HiteJinro, which is the leading alcohol producer in South Korea.
BTS V and BLACKPINK Jennie's Whereabouts
Meanwhile, BTS V sent his devoted supporters into a frenzy once again after he shared a sneak peek of the imminent "Map of the Soul" photobook. The "Dynamite" singer posted a snap of him with blue-colored teardrop diamonds on his face.
The new images of BTS member V, who has been inactive on social media for quite some time, made fans think that he is channeling "Love Yourself: Tear" with a Greek God persona. Others even described the co-member of Jin, Jimin, Jungkook, J-Hope, Suga and RM as a perfect Greek sculpture.
BLACKINK Jennie, on the other hand, was hounded with controversy lately after she was accused of breaking COVID-19 health protocols. Not only did the "Lovesick Girls" songstress failed to wear a face mask on the photo as it also showed her and six friends holding ice creams while not following social distancing rules.
As netizens started pointing out the blunder, BLACKPINK member Jennie quickly deleted the snaps and made another post with the group photo removed. The arboretum released a statement and revealed that the K-pop idol and her crew dropped by to film a YouTube video for business purposes.
The city office also verified that the agency submitted an application and approval form to use the arboretum as a filming location. YG Entertainment also addressed the controversy, saying that Jennie had been there for work and not for a social gathering.

Reasons Why BLACKPINK is "The Revolution" On Instagram Network
All BLACKPINK Members Surpass 40 Million Instagram Followers
On Apr. 29, a post on an online community forum noted that all the members of BLACKPINK — Jisoo, Jennie. Rosé, and Lisa — had surpassed the 40 million follower mark on Instagram. Notably, Rosé, who had just 39 million followers the week prior, had reached 40 million followers in just a week's time.
As of the time of writing, Lisa has 51.5 million followers, Jennie 44.3 million followers, Rosé has 40.1 million followers, and Jisoo has 40 million followers on their personal Instagram accounts. The official BLACKPINK account has 37.3 million followers.
As of Apr. 2021, Lisa is the first and only K-pop idol to surpass 50 million Instagram followers. She is the most-followed K-pop idol on the social media platform. The Thai idol is known for making waves on the platform. Back in 2020, when she announced on Instagram that she was the new Global Ambassador for MAC Cosmetics, her post received more than 5.6 million likes and 74,000 comments.
Jennie is also well-loved on the platform. The idol, who is known for her brand recognition and marketing power, was awarded the "Most Loved Account of 2018" by Instagram in South Korea. The award was given to her based on the number of views and likes Jennie received on her Instagram Stories and posts that year.
Rosé is among the top ten most-followed Korean individual accounts. The sudden boost in followers is most likely due to the success of her solo debut album "-R-" and her title track "On The Ground."
Rosé has appeared in numerous interviews, such as with Vogue and Billboard, and has even appeared in multiple talk shows, such as "The Kelly Clarkson Show" and "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon."
Jisoo is also among the top ten most followed K-pop idols on Instagram. The idol has gone viral on the platform before. Back in Jun. 2020, Jisoo's make-up look for the "How You Like That" teasers went viral. Celebrities and influencers from Vietnam, Thailand, China, and South Korea shared photos of them re-creating her two-bow hairstyle and make-up, which Jisoo crafted herself. The look trended on Instagram, with the hashtag #JisooMakeup being among the most popular hashtags on the platform at the time. Jisoo's "dot style" was a massive hit on the platform!
How Did Korean Netizens React to BLACKPINK Members Surpassing 40 Million Instagram Followers?
Netizens were immensely impressed with BLACKPINK, with people noting that it further proves how the girl group is the biggest in the world. Some have even joked that BLACKPINK can form their own country with a large population with just their follower count! Others also noted how cool it is that they have so many followers, yet none of the members are following anyone.
Congratulations to Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa for surpassing 40 million Instagram followers!
