It is rumored that Sugar, who usually had shoulder pain, decided to have the surgery after medical staff judged that it was too much for his career.

BTS Suga was recently hospitalized at a hospital in Seoul and underwent shoulder surgery. It is rumored that Sugar, who usually had shoulder pain, decided to have the operation after medical staff judged that the condition was too much for his career. However, Suga thought that his fans would be worried, so he informed only those very close to him about his surgery.

Fortunately, Suga, who successfully completed the surgery, was discharged from the hospital on November 6 after taking enough rest. However, Big Hit Entertainment announced that he will have to take a break from most of the group's activities. Below is the full statement from the agency:

“Hello, this is Big Hit Entertainment. We would like to provide more information about the health status of BTS Suga.

Suga had to undergo surgery to repair the torn shoulder labrum on November 3. The surgery, to help solve the nagging problems related to Suga's health and well-being, has been carried out very smoothly and he is currently resting and recovering under the guidance of a physical therapist. According to the doctor, Suga must follow a serious and unhindered recovery process.

As you know, Suga has endured shoulder-related health problems for a long time. Starting from when he was injured in an accident in 2012, before his debut, in 2013, he was diagnosed with a dislocation. The shoulder pain continued until 2019, when Suga received a specific diagnosis of "posterior labral tear in the left shoulder", meaning that the cartilage around Suga's left shoulder joint was torn. Since then, Suga has been continuing to receive various forms of treatment to avoid injury affecting promotional activities.

Suga has endured many symptoms from this trauma for a long time, such as being unable to raise his hands or sudden pains. He continued to receive therapy and treatment throughout the entire duration of his activities, but unfortunately his symptoms did not improve significantly. These symptoms have appeared more and more frequently in recent years, affecting Suga not only when performing on stage but also in his daily life.

Suga also feels that restoring his health is very important to prepare for the upcoming mandatory military service, as well as for his future music career when he is discharged from the army. After careful discussion with the company, it was decided that he would undergo surgery.

After surgery, Suga will not be able to participate in most of the group's official schedules to focus on recovering his health. Once the doctors confirm that the surgical wound has healed completely, Suga will begin taking part in physical therapy so that he can return to the stage after he has fully recovered. It will be difficult for Suga to meet the fans who have been waiting for him for a long time, and he won't be able to participate in BTS's upcoming promotions for 'BE'. We apologize to the fans who waited patiently to see Suga on stage, and hope everyone can sympathize.

Suga hopes his fans can know that he "knows very well that fans are worried and concerned a lot, and also know that fans are sad." He shared, “Please understand that this period of time will be an opportunity for me to prepare myself so that you will see me strong and healthy again. And even if I have to be absent for a while, please wait for me to get back to you."

Big Hit will always try our best to ensure the health and safety of our artists.

Thank you."

Meanwhile, BTS will release their new album 'BE' on November 20, and fans around the world are looking forward to the new album. BTS will unveil their title track 'Life Goes On' for the first time at the '2020 American Music Awards' ceremony on November 22.
