2020 has been a jam-packed year for BTS despite the coronavirus pandemic. Though the group had to cancel their much-anticipated world tour, they showed no signs of slowing down. In August, the group released their first all-English single, "Dynamite", which debuted at number one on the Billboard Hot 100. This is not only BTS's first number-one single in the United States, but the first time a South Korean artist has hit number one in the United States in general. The song also debuted at the top of the Billboard Global 200 and the Global Exclusing U.S. Charts.
Additionally, "Dynamite" earned BTS their first-ever Grammy nomination at the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards. The group was nominated for "Best Pop Duo/Group Performance". This is the first time a South Korean act has ever been nominated for a Grammy award.
In Oct., BTS released their remix of Jason Derulo and Jawsh 685's "Savage Love (Laxed - Remix Beat"). Their version of the song topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart, making it BTS's second number-one single in the United States. During the time their remix hit number one, "Dynamite" remained on the charts at number two, making BTS the fourth group in Billboard history to own the top two spots on the Hot 100 at the same time.
In Nov., BTS dropped their fifth Korean studio album, "Be". Not only did the album hit number one in the Billboard 200 Charts, the title track "Life Goes On" hit number one on the Billboard Hot 100. This is BTS's third number one hit and it is the first time a Korean-language song has ever topped the charts in the United States.
BTS, there is just no slowing down for you!
