30 Korean singers will record a remake version of Yang Hee Eun's 상록수 - 'Evergreen Tree' together to cheer on the people who are suffering from COVID-19.
As reported by The Fact, 30 artist representing the Korean music industry, led by producer Kim Hyung Suk, have recently gathered to record a new project. It is a song to convey hope and send a message of support to the people who are having a hard time due to coronavirus.
A total of 30 top Korean singers, including Super Junior Kyuhyun, Ryeowook and Ye-sung, Red Velvet Joy and Yeri, Brown Eyed Girls Jea, Baek Ji-young, Ha Dong-kyun and Kim Pil, will participate in the project.
Their song is 'Evergreen Tree'. Singer Yang Hee Eun first released the song in 1979 under the title "Like a Green Pine Leaf in a Struggling Field" and changed the title to "Evergreen Tree" when Kim Mi Ki, who wrote and composed the song, released a compilation that re-recorded his signature song in 1993.
In 1998, when the public was disappointed of the IMF, 'Evergreen Tree' became widely known and became a representative song of courage and hope when golf player Park Se Ri (currently golf coach) took off her shoes and socks and stepped into the river to hit the ball, and won the U.S. Women's Open.
Kim Hyung Suk has newly arranged 'Evergreen Tree' and singers who decided to join in the good message are currently recording sequentially with the aim of releasing it this month. The song will be distributed free of charge. All of the recording processes by the singers will be filmed and released in the form of a music video.
