BTS RM decided to make this year’s birthday more special and meaningful as he donated a generous amount of donation to a museum.
According to the report of the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art (MMCA), the leader of BTS gave 100 million won (approximately $84,200) under the means of his birthday on September 12.
In responding to the donation’s purpose, it is said that RM’s contribution will be used towards the reprinting of books related to art, which fall into two terms, hard-to-find and out-of-print ones. A number of those will be also transferred for students in elementary, middle, and high schools in 400 places from all over the country.
On the other hand, the reprinted editions of the books are sell in the museum’s bookstore, so that everyone who has interests could have for themselves the books they want.
Speaking of this generous movement of RM, Yoon Bum Mo, the director of the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, commented, “RM expressed his desire to support the field of art, in which he has found inspiration and comfort. Just as he was able to gain a deeper understanding of art through books, he shared his hope that children and youth who may not find it easy to access museums will be able to easily come into contact with art [through these books]. We were delighted and surprised by his wish.”
He continued, “Together with RM, who continually visits the museum in spite of his busy schedule and has been a positive influence in increasing interest in art, we will work hard to expand the practice of reading books about art.”
Let’s send best wishes on behalf of this generous act of RM and wish him all the best on his birthday, as well as every other days of this talented leader.
