Park Ji Hoon recently have an interview about his new web drama “Love Revolution”!
“Love Revolution” is based on a popular webtoon of the same name about the love and friendship between high school students. Park Ji Hoon stars as Gong Ju Young, who is in a relationship with Wang Ja Rim (played by Lee Ruby).
Since the webtoon is already so popular, Park Ji Hoon was asked whether he feels any pressure and if his character differs between the webtoon and the drama. He answered, “It is true that I felt pressured because this project is already so popular. If I were to pick a different charm [of Gong Ju Young], there are a few jokes, so there’s a moderate amount of Park Ji Hoon humor. To be honest, I worked really hard to copy Ju Young of the original webtoon. Since Ju Young himself is a character of many charms, I did not purposely try to make anything different.”
When asked what’s similar between his and Gong Ju Young’s personality, Park Ji Hoon picked loyalty, explaining, “Without loyalty, I’m basically just a skeleton. With regards to loyalty, I’m confident I have more than anyone else.”
After the recent premiere of the drama, Park Ji Hoon received lots of praise for his acting ability. Compared to his previous works, he commented, “Since it’s a modern drama, I can try more improvisation. Also because I’m acting at school with people my age, it’s fun that there are a lot of relatable aspects.”
Regarding his castmates, which include The Boyz’s Younghoon, Jung Da Eun, WJSN’s Dayoung, Ko Chan Bin, and Ahn Do Gyu, Park Ji Hoon shared, “The set was fun every day and we all got along so well. Just like me, everyone’s energy and stamina are really good.” He also explained that he couldn’t pick just one co-star he was closest to, sharing, “Since we’re all so close, it’s hard to pick.”
As a bit of a spoiler, Park Ji Hoon was asked what scene he felt Gong Ju Young was most impressive. He replied, “When he protects Ja Rim? When Ja Rim comes before me.”
Lastly, Park Ji Hoon left a message for himself, sharing, “Don’t let go of your nerves until the very end. I hope you’re able to portray Gong Ju Young well. Good luck!”
