Nam Joo Hyuk to Face Many Difficulties in Life in Upcoming Drama with Suzy

“Start-Up” is a drama set in a fictional South Korean version of Silicon Valley, where young dreamers set out to achieve success in the world of startup companies. Nam Joo Hyuk will star as Nam Do San, the founder of Samsan Tech, while Suzy will play the role of Seo Dal Mi, an adventurer who dreams of becoming Korea’s Steve Jobs.

On September 17, the upcoming drama released new stills of Nam Joo Hyuk in his role as the slightly awkward Nam Do San, whose unkempt hair and casual clothing hint at the fact that he doesn’t care much about his style or appearance. At home, Nam Do San is completely focused on his work, and the messy remains of coffee, ramen, and soda on his desk reveal that he’s been up all night coding.

However, when faced with other people, the passionate Nam Do San becomes insecure and reserved. As a young student, he was a math genius who received attention for becoming the youngest winner of a math olympiad—but since then, his life has gone downhill. After first seeing his grades fall, Nam Do San has now become a failed entrepreneur whose funds have dried up without seeing any results. As a result, his self-esteem has hit rock bottom.

However, Nam Do San will soon find himself at a turning point in his life that allows him to start dreaming again. In the photos, the character eventually sports a new, shorter haircut, hinting at the fact that he has made up his mind to try and get his life back on track.
