An official from Mnet said on January 22 that, "We made an offer to recruit SF9 and BTOB. We are currently discussing it internally."
iKON is also positively considering their attendance, while THE BOYZ, Stray Kids and ATEEZ have confirmed to participate in the show. On top of that, TVXQ has been selected as the MCs of 'Kingdom'.
At the same time, Kingdom, which sent love calls to SF9 and BTOB, is continuing discussions with each company. In the case of SF9, coordinating the drama filming schedule for Rowoon is the key, as he has back injury.
Meanwhile, Starship Entertainment revealed that, "MONSTA X refused to appear in 'Kingdom' after much consideration."
The production team is continuing to cast idol groups for 'Kingdom' as it needs 6 to 7 teams.
'Kingdom' is the boy group version of Mnet's survival show 'Queendom', which first aired in August last year. The network launched 'Road to Kingdom' earlier last year, where THE BOYZ won the ticket to enter 'Kingdom'. The show, however, sparked controversy within the K-Pop fandom.
'Kingdom' is scheduled to be filmed in February and broadcast for the first time in April.
