On Jan. 11, Mnet had announced that they are planning to launch "Girls Planet 999" as a new challenge for aspiring idols from Korea, China and Japan. They aim to debut a group that will be active and promotes on the global stage.
Mnet aims to air the show by the end of 2021 and participants will come from Korea, China as well as Japan. Even though they have difficult cultures and speak different languages, they will be one with the dream to debut as an idol group. Their journey and growth process toward their dreams will take place in the virtual world of "Girls Planet 999" which transcends countries and regions.
UNIVERSE, a global K-pop platform that NC is planning to launch earlier this year, will operate an official platform as a partner of the "Girls Planet 999." In the UNIVERSE, various digital content and services for global K-Pop fans will be operated together as well as global voting to select debut groups.
"Girls Planet 999" will be accepting participants born before Jan. 1, 2006, from Korea, Japan and China. Even if you do not have the nationalities of the three countries, the door for support is open if you have ties between Korea, China and Japan through agencies or residences. More information about program eligibility can be found on the official support page.
