Starship Entertainment said they will respond strongly to malicious comments and rumors regarding their boy group MONSTA X.
On November 3, Starship posted on their official SNS, "Since 2019, we have appointed law firms Sejong and IL to deal with malicious postings such as spreading false information, online slandering, and defamation against our artists."
They shared, "Some of them have been fined and the punishments have been completed, and some systematic, malicious and persistent haters continue to take unprecedented civil action through damages claims."
The agency also said, "With the recent comeback of our artist MONSTA X, there have been countless reports from fans that malicious rumors, including chronic malicious comments, have appeared," adding, "Though it is difficult to specify nicknames (non-login users) that have been recognized as blind spots of malicious comments, a strong legal response was requested through a law firm against legally punishable acts such as spreading false information, defamation, and sexual harassment."
In addition, they stressed, "We confirm once again that if there is a crime, it will only take time before it is found through community servers or archives, and that we will track down online sexual harassment, which are causing a lot of social controversy, to the end and take legal action based on the evidence collected so far."
Finally, Starship told fans, "We will continue to do our best to protect the rights and interests of our artists by taking strong follow-up measures with legal actions against acts such as defamation under the Information and Communication Network Act, malicious slander, and indiscriminate dissemination of false information under the Criminal Law. We sincerely ask for your continued information."
