On November 11, Big Hit unveiled the digital cover and the tracklist of BTS' next album 'BE (Deluxe Edition)'. What's special is that in this tracklist, the names of the songs are completely handwritten by the members. The first song is the title track 'Life Goes On'. The b-sides are 'Fly To My Room', 'Blue & Gray', 'Skit', 'Telepathy', 'Di-sease', 'Stay' and 'Dynamite'.
After being revealed, this tracklist immediately became a hot topic across online forums. Many people were excited to see the names of the group's songs, and were curious about what melody and message the songs will carry this time.
As usual, everything released by BTS seems to have a special meaning, and even the simple tracklist of a album is no exception. Let's try to find out some interesting things related to the latest images that Big Hit has released for the album 'BE'.
1. The text on the digital album cover
On the digital cover of 'BE', we can see five lines of handwritten English text. However, these words are quite fuzzy and have a lot of stylization, so it make it 'difficult' for fans to read. However, ARMY's has already found out the message on the album cover with just a little zoom-in.
The message is as follows:
"Life goes on
Like an echo in the forest
Like an arrow in the blue sky
On my pillow, on my table
Life goes on like this again"
Currently, fans are speculating whether this is the lyrics of the title track 'Life goes on' or simply some words that introduces the concept and message of this album.
2. The English titles of the songs
The tracklist this time has 3 songs with Korean titles, but all of them have official English title. However, most of the translated titles have quite a different meaning from the Korean ones.
The song with the least meaning change is the second track '내방 을 여행 하는 법', which literally means 'How To Travel To My Room'. Nevertheless, when translated into English, the title has become more elegant: 'Fly To My Room'.
The next song title to have a change in its meaning is the fifth track '잠시', which literally means 'For a moment'. The official English title for the song is 'Telepathy'.
The most interesting, though, is the title of the sixth track '병'. If translated into English, it should be 'Disease' or 'Sickness'. However, the song's official English title is a pun when it is written as 'Dis-ease' ('uncomfortable'). Many fans believe that this creative writing is made by RM.
3. The handwritings of the members
In addition to speculating about the melody or genres of the songs in the tracklist, ARMY also tried to find out which member each song's handwritten title belongs to. Fans had to enlarge the text, look for BTS's handwritings and compare the two, but so far no one can be sure that they have the most accurate answer.
Here are fans' theories about which member wrote which song title:
The above are just theories made by many fans, so nothing is certain.
4. The members might have given fans several spoilers before
After the tracklist was released, many fans pointed out that the members 'spoiled' the song titles in some previous videos. Although these are just ARMY's theories, many fans believe that BTS has 'hinted' the song titles many times without anyone noticing.
The song V used to play in 'In The Soop' has a line with the word 'Blue and Gray'.
They mention the word 'Telepathy' in a recent Vlog.
Jungkook mentioned the lyrics of 'Stay'.
In the Vlog posted on November 5, the members said they wanted to release 7 songs with a Skit track. This completely coincides with what's shown on the official tracklist of 'BE'. They plan to have 2 songs sung by sub-units and 4 songs sung by the whole group.
5. Knet's reactions to the tracklist of BTS' 'BE'
Although it's just the tracklist, Korean netizens have already been excited and looking forward to the release date to listen to all the tracks. Here are some of the comments on Theqoo:
