2PM member Chansung made a surprise announcement of his marriage and the pregnancy of his fiancée. He also revealed that he will be parting ways with JYP Entertainment in January next year.
2PM Chansung Reveals Plans of Marriage as well as His Fiancée's Pregnancy + to Depart from JYP Entertainment in January 2022
On Dec. 15, Chansung posted a handwritten letter addressed to the fans on his personal Instagram account. In the letter, the 2PM member announced that he is planning to get married and that he is expecting his first child with his non-celebrity girlfriend.
What's more, the male idol shared his upcoming departure from JYP Entertainment next year.
2PM Chansung began his letter by saying, "Hello. This is 2PM's Chansung. The cold winter season has come. I started my activities when I was 17 and 15 years have gone by already. Lots of things happened and there have been numerous memories."
He added, "I express endless gratitude to HOTTEST who have created valuable memories. Today, I am telling you about changes and happiness in my life."
Chansung then disclosed that he has been in a relationship with someone for a long time now. He described this girl as the person who has been "the resting place" for his unstable heart as well as a friend with whom he can share anything. And so, she later became his girlfriend.
The 2PM member then mentioned he was preparing and planning his marriage with his non-celebrity girlfriend after his military discharge. And, at that time, they found out that a "blessing of a new life" came to them earlier than expected, implying to his fiancée's pregnancy.
He continued that they have been planning to get married as early as the beginning of 2022. "We are very careful as she is in the early stage of her pregnancy, but I am sharing this news as I thought that I should tell you first," 2PM Chansung said.
Toward the end of his letter, Chansung announced that his contract with JYP Entertainment, where he has been within for 15 years, will end in January next year. He shared that he went through an in-depth discussion with the company regarding his thought to take a new path alongside his fiancée, and so they came to a mutual agreement to not renew his contract.
The 2PM member stated, "The decision was made through communication with my future as the priority, and the agency willingly gave blessings for my bright future."
He concluded his message to the fans by saying that he will work hard as he is right now to impress fans as 2PM's youngest member Chansung and as actor Hwang Chansung.

About 2PM Chansung
Hwang Chansung, known mononymously as Chansung, is the youngest member of 2PM as well as the lead rapper and vocalist in the group. He got into JYP Entertainment in 2006 and trained for two and a half years.
Before he became an idol, Chansung made his debut as an actor in the 2006 comedy series "Unstoppable High Kick." Since then, he has starred in more dramas, some of which are "Vincenzo," "So I Married an Anti-Fan" and "Show Window: The Queen's House" which all aired in 2021.
2PM Chansung also appeared in several films such as "A Rose and a Tulip," "The Last Snow of Winter" and more.
