On August 10, Mnet’s upcoming show titled “Mega Karaoke Survival VS” (literal translation) unveiled its producer lineup which includes 2PM’s Wooyoung, BTOB’s Eunkwang, former SISTAR member Soyou, Lim Han Byul, Giriboy, Car, the Garden, Roy Kim, Parc Jae Jung, MeloMance’s Kim Min Seok, and DAY6’s Young K.
“VS,” which stands for “Vocal” and “Showdown,” is a survival show where participants showcase their singing abilities and compete against each other through karaoke to win a grand prize of 100 million won (approximately $76,150).
The 10 producers will form five teams of two: 2PM’s Wooyoung and BTOB’s Eunkwang, Soyou and Lim Han Byul, Giriboy and Car, the Garden, Roy Kim and Parc Jae Jung, and MeloMance’s Kim Min Seok and DAY6’s Young K. On top of being judges, they will also be in charge of training and producing to help contestants discover their talents and raise their potential.
The show’s open recruitment for participants, which was held for a month in July, has garnered a diverse range of talented applicants spanning from ages 10 to 65 excelling in various genres such as rock, dance, trot, ballads, and more.
The production team commented, “We were very surprised to see so many people with incredible talent and unique charms applied. Thank you for your interest and support. We will present a fun program for the whole nation to enjoy together.”
