Netflix's new original series 'Hope the World Gets Ruined Tomorrow' has confirmed its cast, including Park Se Wan, Shin Hyun Seung, GOT7 Youngjae (G)I-DLE Minnie, and Han Hyun Min.
'Hope the World Gets Ruined Tomorrow' is a sitcom featuring the love, friendship and youth of multinational students living in an international dormitory at a university in Seoul.
Working for the project is a talented crew specialized in sitcoms. Producer Kwon Ik Joon and producer Kim Jung Sik, who directed 'High Kick', 'Potato Star 2013QR3' and 'Smashing on Your Back', will be in charge of the production, while the screenplay will be written by Seo Eun Jung, author of 'Soonpoong Clinic', and Baek Ji Hyun, writer of 'Nonstop' season 1, 2 and 3, and 'Rude Miss Young-ae' season 15, 16 and 17.
Expectations are high that 'Hope the World Gets Ruined Tomorrow', produced by people who brought the entire nation to the front of the TV, will spread the refreshing fun of K-Sitcom beyond South Korea, to the world.
The cast for the roommates at the international dorm have also been confirmed. Park Se Wan, who showed stable performances in dramas such as 'School 2017', 'I'm Not a Robot', 'Just Dance', 'Never Twice', and movies 'Omok Girl' and 'No Mercy', will play Sewan, a real-life candy that cannot be hated and a Korean assistant in charge of managing dormitories.
Shin Hyun Seung, a big rookie who was selected among more than 5,000 competitors in the nation's first integrated audition hosted by Kakao M, took on the role of Jemie, an American student who newly joined the dormitory.
GOT7 Choi Youngjae will take on another acting challenge following the web drama 'Dream Knight'. Youngjae will play Sam, a Korean-American from Australia, the son of the chairman of the global Tteokbokki food chain, giving off a wild charm.
Minnie of (G)I-DLE, who will make her acting debut, will appear as a Thai girl with a fantasy about Korean dramas. Meanwhile, Han Hyun Min, a model-turned-entertainer who is active in various fields, will play Hyunmin, a Korean who travels five hours to and from school after failing to enter the international dormitorie.
Expectations are already high on the fresh energy generated by the five prospective stars who have been chosen as the main characters of the youth sitcom. Sitcoms are known to be one of the gateways to stardom for actors and actresses, such as Song Hye Kyo, Hyun Bin and Cho In Sung.
'Hope the World Gets Ruined Tomorrow' will be released in 190 countries around the world only through Netflix in the near future.
